Werner is the CEO of Goldplat Plc, an AIM Listed company with two market leading operations in South Africa and Ghana focused on recovering gold and other precious metals from by-products, contaminated soil and other gold bearing material from mining and other industries, providing an economic method for mines to dispose of waste materials while at the same time adhering to their environmental obligations. Werner qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte in South Africa in 2006 and joined Goldplat in 2015, and within his role he was integral in managing Goldplat’s financial and operational affairs. He was later appointed as Finance Director and in 2019 he was appointed CEO. Since his appointment as CEO, he has led the restructuring of the Group and has driven strategic change, disinvesting of its mining portfolio and refocussing of the Group on its core, profitable recovery operations. Before joining Goldplat, Werner gained audit and commercial experience in other industries.
