I am a physician with a background in general internal medicine and infectious diseases (MD, PhD). At the start of the COVID-19 crisis I transitioned from clinical work into public health and have been managing the Infectious Diseases Epidemiology Service of the Belgian National Public Health Institute (Sciensano) since 2021.
