About Koen van Deun

Koen Van Deun graduated as a doctor in veterinary medicine at the University of Ghent in 1988. He has worked as a researcher in veterinary immunology at the University of Ghent from 1988 until 1990, and then joined Janssen Research Foundation in Beerse (currently renamed in J&J PRD). From 1990 until 2001, he held different positions, including researcher toxicologic pathology, study director in vivo toxicology, senior scientist toxicology, international project manager and quality manager for toxicological & toxicokinetic R&D. During the same period, he was certified for toxicological training (1998), followed by an accreditation as a European Registered Toxicologist 2004, 2008) In 2001, he was appointed as lecturer at the Thomas More College University (Associated to K.U.Leuven). Further, he has been active as a consultant in toxicology and quality support from 2003 onwards, with establishment of Reflector Consulting in 2007 and cofounding of 2 Bridge (Science to Live) in 2013. From 2008-2014 he joined the Steering Committee of the Belgian Society of Toxicology (Beltox). Specialties: Safety assessment and registration support for (bio)pharmaceuticals, chemicals, cosmetics and other health products. Author of several registration or accreditation dossiers, publications, courses and books.
