I have been with JGC since I joined JGC as a new graduate. I joined JGC because I wanted to become a globally active businessperson, however I started my career with a very domestic job in the HR Dept, where I was in charge of taking care of company housing, welfare programs, and health management. I was disappointed with my first assignment and thought about quitting, as I had been thinking about working overseas. Then, the general manager at the time talked to me that this job would be useful for your future career as an overseas administration manager, and I got myself togethers and worked on it for two years seriously. After two years as a recruiter, I was offered a chance to work as an administration manager on a project in Indonesia. The Indonesian project was a grassroots project that required us to start from building our own accommodations and hire staffs to carry out the project. The Administration Manager is responsible for all non-technical operations such as HR, general affairs, accounting,budget, local relations, security, etc. from the start-up of the site to its completion. I have learned from this experience the importance of not picking and choosing the right job and taking every job seriously, which has been my policy up to now. It was a very meaningful experience for me to go through several rough patches in my late twenties in such a responsible position, and it solidified my foundation as a businessperson. After that, I oversaw employee relations and mobility at the head office in Japan, as well as training new graduates and creating new training programs. It was also a good experience for me to be involved in the implementation of the HR Information System. After gaining experience as a human resources manager, I was assigned in Houston, Texas for three years to establish JGC America as Vice President of Human Resources and Administration, I was responsible for human resources, office operations, and project support. I was responsible for the establishment of the organization, hiring, creating and implementing HR systems, and supporting the start-up of the new office and project execution. After returning to Japan, I took charge of human resources operations in connection with the Company's transition to a holding company. Currently, as the head of the Human Resources and General Affairs Department, I am responsible for strategic human resources and human resources policies for the further globalization of the Company, as well as general affairs operations for the management of the Company, utilizing my knowledge and experience.
