About Koly Mustafa

I am a licensed veterinarian in Sweden with over 7 years of experience as a veterinarian and zoo officer in Bangladesh. I provided veterinary services, animal care, and laboratory support for the Department of Livestock Services and the National Zoo in these roles. I have a strong foundation in veterinary medicine, veterinary microbiology, immunobiology, and molecular biology, and have published research on a new avian virus in a peer-reviewed journal. Recently, I completed an internship at the Molecular Ecology and Evolution Laboratory at Lund University, where I enhanced my expertise in molecular biology and animal ecology, specifically identifying bird parasites using PCR techniques. I hold a Master’s degree in Biology with a specialization in animal ecology, where I researched the effects of climate change on bird migration and behavior. I am passionate about animal health, conservation, and ecology. In addition to my professional work, I am currently volunteering at Erikshjälpen Secondhand Shop and studying Swedish at gymnasienivå to further my integration and professional growth in Sweden.
