About Kostas Manikas

Kostas is a qualified attorney, admitted to the Athens Bar. He is an associate in the EU, Competition & Antitrust department of POTAMITISVEKRIS Law Firm, advising on all areas of competition law, including cartels and restrictive practices, abuse of dominance and merger control, as well as on the evolving landscape of State aid and FDI rules. Kostas also routinely assists clients in navigating sector-specific regulatory frameworks in transactional, operational and enforcement contexts, with a particular focus on fast-moving industries, such as telecoms, energy, utilities and aviation. He has been involved in fact-intensive antitrust cases before the HCC, including in settlement procedures, and has advised in the design of State aid schemes and the granting of individual aid measures, notably for large-scale investments, upon a DG COMP notification or under block exemption regulations. He has also handled regulatory aspects of various corporate transactions and privatizations, providing compliance solutions aligned with business goals. Aside from his practice, since 2017, he has been giving lectures to Erasmus law students at the University of Athens on topics related to the EU legal order and, as of October 2021, he is a teaching assistant at the EU law LL.M. of the University of Athens.
