About Koster Silvernail

Hi! My name is Koster Silvernail and I am Reading Tutor at Moos Elementary in Chicago, IL. I am currently a student at DePaul University getting a masters degree in Elementary Education. I hail from Lake Forest, IL but I've moved all around the United States helping me develop strong adaptation skills as a young adult. I pride myself on my work ethic, empathetic skills, creativity, and leadership skills. I have had multiple professional experiences in my academic years which have benefitted me greatly. My time at Maclean-Fogg taught me how to work with teams to solve problems of all magnitudes within a corporation. My proudest moment from this experience was being able to improve tooling change over time for a manufacturing machine by 80% by utilizing the Lean Process with a Kaizen team over the course of one week. My time at Spaulding Companies showed me how to be a generational leader through Heart-Led Leadership techniques. My boss and personal mentor, Tommy Spaulding, showed me the power of empathy within leadership and how to effectively connect with individuals from all walks of life. I use the skills I learned in this internship in every aspect of my life and view them as part of my core identity. My time I spent at Q&A in Los Angeles was an eye-opening experience that has greatly improved my professional skills. As a marketing and A&R intern, I was able to build a custom CRM system with AirTable while scouting musical talent and talking with artist managers. My personal highlight was engaging in negotiations for a record deal with an artist manager. Through my time with Q&A, I was able to learn the ins-and-outs of the music industry.
