About Kovid Sharma

I am presently working with PATH as Project Lead, TIMCI that focuses on saving lives of children through a research based intervention that involves testing, adapting and scaling up innovation products such as multimodal devices, clinical decision support algorithm in the primary health care settings of Uttar Pradesh, India. Prior to this, I had worked with Population Services International, as Specialist Quality Improvement, to improve experience of care among delivery and family planning client in rural public health settings under UCSF led SPARQ research project. In the past, I have worked as sector lead for Healthcare & Nutrition interventions in HCL Foundation, a CSR initiative of HCL technologies, that improved the status of maternal & child health services in Uttar Pradesh. I have served as state lead in USAID project ASSIST in Uttarakhand, Medical consultant in World Health Organization (WHO) supported TB control program in Uttar Pradesh & Uttarakhand and as State Epidemiologist in Integrated Disease Surveillance Project, Government of Gujarat. My engagement HCL foundation provided important insights on rural development & public health management working with multiple convergent strategy to improve maternal & child health services. The current & previous research assignments provided learning insights and rich orientations in improving Quality of Care around maternal and child health through a variety of measurable interventions. Assignments in disease surveillance and five year haul in TB control, taught me the advances of field epidemiology, program and project development, implementation, operational research, supervision & monitoring strategies, especially in resource-limited settings. I have the ability to strategically plan, develop, implement and monitor programs and operations toward achievement of team’s mission, goals, and objectives. I have managed and coordinated care and support programs in the field of communicable diseases and maternal & child health.
