About Kris Goetzke

For the majority of my teenage and adult life, I have had an interest business, healthcare, and the sciences. Due to this, I decided to pursue a degree in Biochemistry. While this was a great experience, I knew that I would not reach my full potential working in a lab. I decided to pursue a career in the medical device industry to address all of my passions. I have a very unique set of skills as my profession revolves around Market Access and Reimbursement. I also decided to pursue becoming a Certified Outpatient Coder as this gave me the knowledge needed to assist hospitals, ASCs, and clinics with coding, coverage, and payment questions. My current role specializes in the neurostimulator market. I have extensive knowledge surrounding coding (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II), billing (UB-04, CMS-1500 forms), Medicare reimbursement (OPPS, MPFS, ASC), commercial insurance reimbursement, and coverage (Medicare and commercial insurance). I use this knowledge to train physicians, billers, and coders on proper coding practices as well as assist them with appeals and claim denials. In addition, I have experience working with upper management in healthcare organizations assisting with reimbursement related conversations (Value Analysis Committee meetings, contracting, etc). This role requires strategic thinking skills and the ability to communicate clearly to a variety of audiences.
