About Kris Katrosh

I am a filmmaker with 35+ years of experience, both above and below the line. As a filmmaker, I am primarily interested in relationships - relationships between individuals, between peoples and their communities, between society and our planet. I'm passionate about storytelling and working with collaborators. I have led film production companies and academic media departments through start-ups and periods of dramatic growth. As co-founder of New Harvest Creative, I help finance and produce films, design, and manage production facilities, mentor students/new filmmakers, and serve on film festival and humanities boards. All these efforts are in service of helping filmmakers tell stories. I have always been intrigued by the investigatory process and the creative challenges involved in telling a great story. To be effective, any story requires enough emotional resonance to effectively engage the intended audience. A well-told story can motivate the target audience to learn, reflect, and act. In my experience, this philosophy holds true whether for feature films, TV series, documentaries, or academic courses.
