About Kris Smith

I’m a structural engineer by training with almost two decades of experience leading complex engineering and infrastructure projects across Canada. After graduating with a first-class Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from Edinburgh, Scotland, I built my career from technical design through to engineering management and project leadership. Over the years, I’ve managed multidisciplinary teams, driven project delivery, and engaged directly with clients and stakeholders on high-impact infrastructure developments. My experience spans both engineering consulting and construction environments, giving me a 360° view of project lifecycles, contract execution, and value-driven decision making. Today, as a Business Development Manager, I bring deep technical credibility and project delivery insight to strategic conversations with clients. My role involves identifying new construction opportunities for FWS, developing key partnerships, and aligning engineering solutions with client needs and business goals. I thrive at the intersection of technical excellence, construction solutions and client engagement.
