Then, it happened to my own family. My wife, young, healthy, and active, progressively lost all sensation in her arms and legs. Our young children had to call 911. A high-risk, 7-hour surgery to remove a tumor from her spine and months of uncertainty changed our lives forever. That experience reinforced what I already knew—financial security isn’t just important, it’s essential. I had been seeking a career change that offered better work-life balance, but after my wife’s recovery, financial and employee benefits planning became more than a career-it became my mission.
