The exact levels and effects of pollutants in the tissues of marine vertebrates depend on two factors; first is the exposure to environmental contamination (through the diet mainly), and second, which biotic phase of life they are in. Gestation, spawning, nursing, weaning, migrations and moulting place a higher demand on the body, and the level of toxicokinetic pollutants in the body varies during these times. My interests are to study and compare, in marine fish, turtles, birds and mammals, their biochemical and physiological responses facing pollutants. Specialties: Marine ecology and toxicology
