About Krishna Pant

My career at the nexus of science machine learning and software has followed the unfolding genomic revolution. I worked on early SNP microarray technologies on cataloging human genetic variation and on analyzing early genome-wide association studies for complex diseases (Perlegen). I next worked on a first-of-its-kind service for whole-genome sequencing and its applications to Mendelian disease and cancer leading the team responsible for the software algorithms and analysis stack (Complete Genomics). I then focused on commercial clinical applications of DNA sequencing - lab tests for hereditary cancer risk (Invitae Color) noninvasive prenatal screening and carrier screening (Progenity). More recently I worked on a technology platform that uses deep learning to accurately characterize and isolate single cells using high-resolution imaging in microfluidic flow (Deepcell). I'm interested in the development of devices and services that could democratize and decentralize genomics. I'm also really interested in thinking about practical applications of the AI revolution to medicine. Whether leading teams or contributing individually I enjoy being immersed in data trying to connect the dots.
