About Krishna Shree

I am a development worker with a Master's degree in Development Management from Madras School of Social Work, with a passion for social impact, public policy, and research. I have worked with government think tanks, NGOs, and international trusts, focusing on public health, gender, human rights, and environmental issues. Most recently, I was a Program Manager at r.i.c.e, where I piloted and developed a successful family-based newborn care program in partnership with the Department of Medical Education and Bahraich District Hospital. I led a team of 18 nurses and 12 support staff to train families in looking after the special needs of their low birth weight neonates, resulting in a 23% increase in the survival rate of the babies. I also managed the hiring, training, and induction of all the staff, and organised facility-based follow-up days for the families that benefited from the program. I have strong skills in program development, stakeholder management as well as advocacy and communication. I have co-authored an independent article about the impact of a uranium mine on people's livelihood and health and created grant proposals and research partnerships for The Akshaya Patra Foundation. I am also certified in proposal and report writing by Save the Children International. I am looking for challenging opportunities to build evidence-based and effective programs that create positive change for marginalised communities. I am willing to relocate for the right opportunity.
