About Krishnamurthy Jayanna

Krishnamurthy is a physician, public health specialist and a researcher, based in Bangalore, India. His interests revolve around quality of care, quality of life and wellbeing amidst others. He has experience working in the context of many public health challenges in India and Africa. Currently he works as Dean of Faculty of Life and Allied Health Sciences at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, India, he supports multidisciplinary research and academic initiatives in the space of public health, allied health, life sciences and food sciences. He holds part-time faculty position with the department of Community Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, Canada. He is also on the senior advisory team of Karnataka Health Promotion Trust, and is the India site coordinator for a Global Health Training Program, that trains PhD and postdoctoral fellows from across four countries, India, Canada, Kenya and Columbia. Krishnamurthy has been a volunteer at Heartfulness Institute, a meditation trainer and practitioner over 20 years. He is an advocate of yoga and natural living. His keen interest in scientific exploration of integrating modern medicine with Meditation, Yoga and Ayurveda, led him to establish the Center for Integrative Health and Wellbeing few years ago. Here, he and his team provide training and coaching to individuals as well as institutions, toward embracing an ‘Integrative Health and Wellbeing Lifestyle’ that enhance quality of life. He has published a book to inspire and support people in adopting an integrative health and wellbeing lifestyle He also supports applied neuroscience research of Cognitive Skills Pvt Ltd that offers cognitive training programs for children, adults and the elderly to enhance learning, performance and quality of life. He completed MBBS from J.S.S Medical college, Mysore; MD in Community Medicine from Bangalore Medical College; received training in research methods at W.H.O, Geneva and holds a post-doctoral research fellowship from Canada. He has published over 1O0 publications that includes journals, books, book chapters, white papers and scientific reports; participated as key note speaker and an expert panellist in over 50 conferences and workshops of national and international repute. He has been a recipient of Karnataka Association of Community Health (KACH) young scientist award; National level Impact award and Best public health project award in wellness categories; and scholarships from NIH, USA and WHO, Geneva.
