About Krissy Ware

My interest in Science started with the completion of my 3 year B.Sc. Hons. Animal Behaviour and Ecology & Conservation Degree in 2012, of which I was awarded a 2:1. I completed a Lab-based dissertation on Conservation Genetics, exploring the genetic diversity between fragmented populations of species. I started working for the University of Cambridge in 2014 within the Central Biomedical Services as an Animal Technician for the Neurodegenerative Diseases group. I worked here for a total of 2 years, after which I spent some time Fundraising for the RSPB before moving back into the Science Industry. In 2017 I started working as a Laboratory Technician for Avantor at Medimmune, Granta Park, before it transitioned to Astrazeneca. Early 2019 I moved into the position of Laboratory Manager for the BioPharmaceutical Development team at AstraZeneca. At the start of 2021 I started working for Biofidelity as Laboratory Manager. I finished here in December 2022 and began a new journey with AbCellera in January 2023 as Operations and Laboratory Co-Ordinator. Due to shutdown of the UK site, my role ended in January 2024. I am now with Sortera Bio Ltd as Facilities and Operations Manager, with an exciting future ahead. My main areas of experience are- assisting with setting up Operational and Facilities procedures for Bio-tech start-ups - Health & Safety, Risk Assessments, COSHH and SOPs, emergency procedures - maintenance and calibration of equipment - implementing stock management systems - iso13485 experience - procurement
