About Krista Edwards

As an experienced Grant Specialist, I bring a unique perspective to the table, having previously worked in various roles within the criminal justice and child welfare systems. Prior to my current role, I served as a Contract Monitor for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), where I developed a keen eye for detail and an ability to effectively manage multiple projects at once. I also worked as a Correctional Officer for TDCJ, where I honed my communication and conflict resolution skills. Beyond my work in criminal justice, I have also worked as an Adoption and Investigator for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), where I helped connect vulnerable children with loving families and ensured their safety and well-being. This experience gave me a deep appreciation for the importance of building strong relationships and advocating for those in need. In my current role as a Grant Specialist, I have been able to leverage my previous experience to successfully secure funding for a variety of initiatives aimed at improving outcomes for the environment. I am passionate about using my skills and expertise to make a difference in the world and am always looking for new opportunities to learn and grow.
