Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will"- Suzy Kassem Creativity and design have always been major drivers in my life. From the age of 5 years old my grandmother taught me how to sew. I began making anything that I could, from clothing for my dolls, to household items, testing my limits and seeing what I could create was a great passion. When I was 12, I turned that passion for fashion into my first venture in Swarovski crystal jewelery design. My designs were sold at local shops around White Rock/South Surrey and at the Vancouver Wedding Fair. Throughout my adolescence, I realized I was a natural leader. I refined my skills in the business and leadership world, working with various teams and at many different companies where I spent time studying techniques and acquiring knowledge on running a business. Finding a career that encompasses my passions for business and entrepreneurial ventures led me to pursue a unique path at Sauder School of Business. Throughout my time at Sauder, I was on the honour roll, volunteered in many different capacities including; social chairmen, recruitment and finally President of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity. Working at Brush, I was able to bring what I was learning in class into practice. I spearheaded the opening of a second location from lease negotiations, securing financing, budgeting, overseeing construction, implementation of new systems, managing inventory, staffing and finally daily operations. I now manage two locations with a staff of 35 employees, an events company, product company and most recently an e-commerce website. I’m currently looking for my next adventure.
