About Krista Slade

Leader in international relationship management and philanthropy with 25+ years of experience on four continents. I have built my career with a reputation for excellence in three niche areas: international fundraising, growing start-up operations and delivering transformational gifts. My strengths include expertise in community engagement, cross-cultural fundraising, building a culture of philanthropy across organisations and empowerment of volunteers. I also have extensive experience in alumni relations, association management and strategic counsel. Career highlights include securing a landmark gift of £75m for the Rhodes Scholarships (2013), establishing CASE operations in Asia-Pacific from a base in Singapore (2006) and launching the University of Toronto (Hong Kong) Foundation in 1995. The Faculty of Arts & Science completed the Boundless campaign on December 31, 2019 during my tenure with over $320m committed by our generous benefactors. Empathy is a core value that inspires me daily in my current role as the inaugural Chief Philanthropy & Partnerships Officer for the Canadian Mental Health Association (national executive). CMHA is the oldest and most extensive mental health & wellness organization in the country with over staff and volunteers. I also serve on the board of the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA), an amazing animal welfare organization celebrating its sesquicentennial in 2023. As a lifelong traveler, it is also my honour to be a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society (FRCGS); our core mission is making Canada better known to Canadians and the world.
