About Kristen Johnson

Over 15 years of experience in the fashion industry as a Creative Director and Wardrobe Stylist. Beginning with my first experience as a Stylist assistant working with David LaChapelle on a Vanity Fair shoot, I was able to quickly learn how to think on my feet and come together with a team to bring a product to life. I continued to work as a Stylist with actors, real everyday people and celebrities of all kinds on everything from editorial, ad campaign and look book shoots to music videos, commercials and major world tours. I’ve worked with some of the best Costume Designers and Stylists such as Arianne Phillips, Nancy Steiner and Marjan Malakpour. I had the pleasure of traveling all over the world with The Dixie Chicks, dressing them for every press conference and TV show for their international press tour. As a Stylist, I was able to bridge the gap from celebrity fashion to the everyday woman. For many years, I lent my expertise to the world of Women’s Contemporary RTW as a Design Director/Creative Director for Johnson and Son of John. Collaborating on exclusive styles with Barneys, Neiman Marcus, Urban Outfitters and Arden B, all of which eventually led to a licensing deal in New York. I’ve gotten my hands dirty in every aspect of garment production from concept, design, research and development all the way through to sales, production and onto the retail floor. As Design Director, I traveled coast to coast to give sales presentations, attend trade shows and do PR interviews. My travels also took me overseas to factories in Peru and fabric shows in Paris. My combined experience and knowledge enables me to effectively translate a brands message into a visual story that’s relatable and desirable to every woman.
