Background
About Kristen Thomasen
I've been working in Law & Robotics since 2010; researching & teaching critical legal perspectives on robotics and AI since 2017. I have a PhD in Law focused on automation, robotics, and privacy in public space. I held North America's first law faculty named position in Law, Robotics & Society at Windsor Law. I've sat on law reform committees, non-profit boards and advisory committees, and testified for various government committees all focused on how we're developing law to respond to expanding automation. I spend a lot of time imagining another way of doing this (i.e. the steady push toward automation that benefits the few to the peril of many). Consider myself a feminist, constantly re-examining what that means. And in my spare time I have amateur training in oncology ('momcologist').
