About Kristi Holst

My number one priority is God. Despite disadvantages I faced growing up with a teen mom on welfare, absentee father. drug addiction, domestic violence, mental health, prison visitation and abuse, I am an over-comer! By the grace of God, I worked my way up through state service proving myself every step of the way. I earned my Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma in 2017 at the California Department of Human Resources. From 2018 through 2021, I served as the sole HR manager at the Emergency Medical Services Authority hiring hundreds of emergency medical personnel to support California wildfires and streamline COVID emergency response efforts to augment staffing at skilled nursing facilities and sites such as the Sleep Train Arena. In 2021, I re-joined the CalHR Team as a Project Manager with a primary focus in process improvement. Because I am passionate about saving time and eliminating government waste, I am now in the role of Business Process Improvement Consultant for the Business Process Improvement Office (BPIO) at CalHR. My role could not be a better fit! I love my job, the work I do, and those I work with. I truly enjoy being part of solution-oriented teams faced with unprecedented and unpredictable challenges impacting our state’s workforce. I look forward to each new challenge as we incorporate project management principles and a Lean Six mindset into our day-to-day Human Resources functions where the resource work is streamlined to free up our time to be kind, understanding and active-listening humans. I enjoy helping people and giving back to my community in my free time and I really love sharing my faith and my walk with Christ through my recovery.
