About Kristi Spence

I'm Kristi, a senior communications strategist who thrives on cutting through the noise to share what truly matters. I love leading and growing teams and helping organizations become the best versions of themselves. My 15+ years of experience spans executive leadership, strategic communications, brand development, and community impact across food/agriculture, health/wellness, and nonprofit sectors. As SVP of Marketing & Communications at Dairy West, I led organization-wide transformation, managed a $7M annual budget, and directed teams across multiple business units. I am a natural problem solver and during the pandemic, I initiated industry-wide collaboration connecting surplus dairy products with food-insecure communities - a program designed to innovate during a crisis to create meaningful impact. My leadership and excitement to build things that matter extends beyond the corporate world. In 2017, I co-founded Athletics United, a nonprofit serving new American families through sport, growing it from concept to a thriving community based organization. I also love to teach, mentor and speak. I have taught classes at the University of Utah and guest lectured at conferences and Universities across the country. What makes me ME is my ability to combine strategic/visionary thinking with a strong pull toward human connection. I find wisdom in the wilderness and meaning in helping people & organizations become their most authentic selves. I'm endlessly curious and thrive on making connections that others might miss.I love everything about learning and hold an MS in Nutrition from the University of Utah and an AB in Religion from Princeton. When I am not working, you will find me adventuring in the mountains with my family + dog, writing or reading. I am a pilot, Olympic Trials Qualifier in the Marathon and love to race gravel bikes. And I love to write about what captures my attention in my Substack,"Noticing."I'm currently exploring new opportunities where I can apply my expertise in communications, relationship building, and strategic alignment to help organizations find their authentic voice and purpose.Let's connect and discover what we might create together.
