About Kristopher Williams

My graduate research was focused on the synthesis and characterization of carbohydrate-based low molecular weight gelators. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of this field, I have been exposed to techniques in the fields of synthetic organic chemistry, separations chemistry, analytical chemistry, and materials science. My current position as Laboratory Director has exposed me to a variety of different analytical techniques and methods, ranging from traditional wet chemistry/bench techniques to various types of analytical instrumentation. I am proficient in a variety of organic synthetic and analytical techniques, including analytical sample prep by SPE and/or column chromatography, GC-FID, GC-MS, HPLC, ICP-OES, RT-qPCR, NMR analysis, fluorescence spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, as well as many traditional wet chemistry techniques, such as titrations and gravimetric analysis.Specialties: chemical/biochemical analysis of agricultural commodities, analytical spectroscopy and instrumentation, organic synthetic chemistry, teaching
