About Kristy Schenderlein

I am a seasoned operations leader with over 25 years of experience driving organizational success through the strategic management of diverse teams, operations, and projects. Currently, I serve as the Vice President of Operations at BIT, a global nonprofit staffing and talent agency specializing in professionals with disabilities. At BIT, we offer a range of services, including Salesforce system integration, accessibility consulting, staffing, and corporate training. I oversee all departments, including marketing, finance, HR, workforce development, the BIT Academy, and our U.S. Department of Labor registered apprenticeship programs. As a trusted advisor to the Executive Director, I have played a key role in scaling BIT from a small team of five to over 45 employees and contractors. Under my leadership, we are set to expand both in the US and globally, with a vision to increase our reach significantly to corporations and professionals worldwide in the next five years. Before joining BIT, I co-owned and served as President of Operations at a family-owned Ace Hardware, where I was responsible for overseeing daily business operations, including customer engagement, personnel management, training, payroll, benefits, and employee development. In the dynamic environment of a small business, I was fully immersed in all aspects, from working alongside front-end employees to shouldering the responsibilities of business ownership. This hands-on experience has given me a unique perspective, enabling me to relate to and understand both the challenges of employees and the priorities of employers. Earlier in my career, I was a litigation paralegal for 15 years, recognized for my expertise and reliability by partners, associates, and colleagues across the firm. Outside of work, I am a proud mother with a love for the Colorado outdoors. Whether paddleboarding, hiking with friends, or enjoying audiobooks, I value quality time with my family and friends. I am also a passionate advocate for zero barriers for people with disabilities, particularly for the blind and visually impaired, ensuring they can live independent and fulfilling lives.
