About Kristy Watson

My administration career began in when I was attending SAIT for the Business Administration program and became employed as a receptionist for a land developer. I quickly learned the company processes and began assisting the accounting department with payables. After completing the Business Administration program, I took a financial accounting course, and was promoted to accounts payable clerk. The next few years were exciting and I expanded my knowledge of office administration and accounting practice. I then followed my childhood dream to become a nurse and completed the Practical Nurse program at Bow Valley College. My career in healthcare as a licensed practical nurse began with Alberta Health Services. During my time as a nurse, I worked in General Surgery and Cardiology in an acute care setting. I thoroughly enjoyed this career and my passion for helping others was further developed with extensive advanced training and certifications. I left my career in 2011 to focus on raising my growing family. In 2021 I was offered the opportunity for a part time position as administrative assistant in the Psychiatry division at Wayfound Mental Health Group. At that time, psychedelic assisted psychotherapy was new and I was excited to be a part of this treatment in the mental health capacity. My role quickly grew and I was now a full time member of the psychedelic team, where ketamine assisted psychotherapy was introduced to our clients. I became the Program Coordinator for Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and enjoyed working with our clients every step of the way during their treatment plans and beyond. My team consisted of a psychiatrist, registered psychologists, advanced care paramedics and a registered nurse. Today, I continue to work in healthcare as a Medical Administration Assistant for the Regional Fertility Program. My journey through healthcare has provided me with knowledge that has elevated my ability to provide exceptional patient care and top tier administration for physicians and the entire multidisciplinary team.
