About Krysta Duran

I am a hardworking, energetic and eager worker. I catch on fast and am very trustworthy and responsible. I love plants, animals, art, science and people. I love working in environments where I can learn from my job as well as help others gain knowledge. I have been working in the Field Museum's Botany department as a collection assistant for over seven years now. Projects I have worked on include, imaging the flowering plant "type" collection, re-packaging, databasing and imaging the lichen collection, photographing and databasing algae and ferns and photographing a portion of the Economic Botany Collection from the World's Fair. In my time at the museum I also volunteered on mushroom collecting trips and helped pick some coyotes and wolves for parasites and helped skin said coyotes and wolves. I have experience doing various promotions and events and I have enjoyed every one of them. I am also a certified mixologist. I have bartending skills in restaurants, banquet halls, festivals and private events. I’m looking for a part-time opportunity to meet and interact with people as well as promote a product I believe in. I have a lot of energy and I am extremely responsible. Specialties: I had two internships in college, one for Chicago’s local music television show JBTV and the other for a cable access television show called Rail-3. At JBTV I cataloged videos and cds as well as quality control for other shows on channel 62. I had a more hands on experience at Rail-3, where I wrote and produced intros, selected show content and was on screen talent. I also have behind the scenes video production skills included but not limited to; shooting, lighting, and editing.
