About Krystal Cavanagh
After 16 years of working in Paramedicine as an EMT (PCP), ACP, supervisor, and on a specialized team called Incident Response Paramedics, I decided to pursue a career in Disaster and Emergency Management. Through taking the MA(DEM) program at Royal Roads University, I have gained expansive and crucial knowledge in the theories behind the foundation of disasters including the psychosocial and sociological aspect of disaster, how large of an influence vulnerabilities have on a hazard, how to be interculturally competent and much much more. To add, the technical skills I have obtained over the last few years in the program, through independent learning, certifications and my personal journey are proving to be priceless. I look forward to working with other Emergency Managers, building relationships and to my future in this discipline.
