About Krystal MacDonald

As an APEGA Professional Geoscientist with 15 years of oil and gas industry experience, consisting primarily of geoscience experience and resource play development in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, I have found myself contributing to numerous fast-paced teams. My geophysical experience consists of multi-zone interpretation of both oil and gas-bearing zones ranging from North East British Columbia to offshore Nova Scotia, as well as interpretation support for various international exploration projects. My project management experience has been gained through the execution of two 3D seismic acquisition projects, multiple re-processing projects, and one microseismic program; all of which I managed in detail from initiation to closing, with each project being completed on-time and under, or within, budget and were valued at over $16MM. I have extensive experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary team members during the execution of drilling programs, as well as provided technical information and presentations during peer reviews and marketing presentations. In addition to my professional experience, I completed my Master of Science in Environmental Practice degree from Royal Roads University, via online delivery, with a very respectable GPA. Within this program I gained exposure to both provincial and federal environmental policies, remediation techniques and planning/design, risk assessments, toxicology, environmental management systems, sustainability principles, and managing complex projects. My final capstone research project focused on the sustainability benefits of implementing additional near-surface geophysical monitoring systems along mining tailings structures associated with gold mining operations, which enhanced my knowledge of gold mining operations, standard practices, and the associated environmental requirements. I am an extremely driven and dependable professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strive to ensure the successful execution of a business plan through effective and transparent teamwork.
