About Krysti Chen

Aloha! My name is Krysti, and I am a first generation student who is majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Business Administration. Currently, I attend Boston University, but I will always call Hawai'i my one true home. I have always been passionate about developing my creative side and telling stories through a variety of mediums, whether it's through photography or graphic design. In the past, I have had academic and extracurricular experiences that involved me working extensively in maintaining interpersonal relationships, which contributed to my continued interest in public relations. I am also interested in social media marketing, as I currently serve as one of the social media chairs of Boston University's Hawaii Cultural Association, and work at The International Institute of New England as a Photography and Multimedia intern. In the future, I aspire to use my creative skills to produce meaningful work that has a positive impact in my community. ‍ Growing up, my parents owned their own businesses, which also led me to become interested in the organizational aspects of business. I am always eager to grow my strengths and improve my weaknesses, and I also enjoy being a leader in team settings. I pride myself on being an effective communicator in project settings and hope to develop these skills further. I am currently looking forward to applying my skills and further developing my background in business through my Human Resources internship with Hawaiian Electric this summer! Let's connect!
