Background

About Kuiyan Xu

During his 19 years of working in the industry, he has worked in different domains. He started his professional career in a thermal power plant, working on the boiler system's operation, maintenance, and optimization. He has also worked on the mechanical design of automatic packaging machines. In Brais Malouin and Associates Inc, he worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer, whose main functions comprised participating in the projects of design, modification, and fabrication of thermal equipment, while respecting the deliverables and deadlines. He also participated in the design of new equipment (R&D) and the optimization of existing ones. His knowledge and experience were valuable assets in product design, which helped provide customers with products of high performance and manufacturability at a lower cost. Since 2016, he started to teach CAD programs of different levels at various schools. Now, he is working full-time as a teacher of Residential and Commercial Drafting program at École des métiers du Sud-Ouest-de-Montréal. At the same time, he works in private practice as a Mechanical Engineer.
