About Kunqi Wang
I am a PhD-trained life sciences researcher with hands-on expertise in molecular biology, CRISPR gene editing, trait discovery, and bioinformatics. My doctoral research combined genome analysis, UHPLC-MS metabolite profiling, and advanced statistical modelling to uncover candidate genes and validate their roles in complex biological interactions. Alongside my wet-lab skills, I have built bioinformatics pipelines for genome assembly and variant analysis and applied path analysis, clustering, and multivariate approaches to large ecological and experimental datasets. This interdisciplinary experience allows me to bridge molecular mechanisms with real-world biological outcomes. I am passionate about applying these skills to biotech, agriculture, or pharmaceutical R&D, contributing to innovation in trait development, bioactive compound discovery, and data-driven solutions.
