About Kunran Yang
I have been in computational catalysis/material field since 2016, with over 20 publications (12 of them are first/cofirst authored), 1 U.S. patent and over 500 citations. I specialize in material and catalyst design inspired by first-principles calculations, high-throughput workflows and machine learning. At UL Research Institutes, we build digitalized platforms with high-throughput synthesis, testing and computations to advance materials discovery. My research interests aim at revealing molecular-level reaction mechanisms, understanding catalytic processes and proposing new catalysts/materials/electrode/cell via density functional theory, ab initio molecular dynamics calculations and other theoretical methods such as microkinetics, advanced free-energy sampling techniques.
