About Kurt Carter

Kurt brings a wealth of business experience, combined with a keen insight into financial strategies with his clients. He focuses on identifying the client’s goals, then crafting a plan of action for them based on those goals. A tremendous communicator, he has the ability to help the client understand and to collaborate on their investment and financial strategies. This includes solving issues affecting both sides of a client’s balance sheet. In 2013 he joined Merrill Lynch in order to bring a more robust platform to his clients. During his 19 years in the financial service industry, he has earned the prestigious CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification. His industry experience includes three years at Mass Mutual, and for the 12 years prior to moving to Merrill Lynch, leading the investment program at Stillwater National Bank (Raymond James Financial Services. Inc.). His previous business experience included a six year stint with Phillips 66 and nearly a decade at Oklahoma State University (OSU), where he served as Director of Athletic Development. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from OSU in 1981. This completed a tremendous college experience for him that included serving as the school mascot “Pistol Pete”. A passionate leader in the community, he takes a most active role serving and supporting the arts, education, and civic programs. Currently he serves on the Board of Directors for Lyric Theater of OKC, the OSU Foundation’s Board of Governors, and the OSU Alumni Association Leadership Council. Kurt and his wife, Jenny, live in Edmond, OK and have two children. They enjoy OSU Athletics, Golf, Sailing and their two dogs, Paisly and Boston.
