About Kurt Lazzara

I grew up moving a lot being a son of a Doctor from being born in California to moving to New York and back again. My Father taught me many things about medical work as a child but one teaching stuck with me "never treat a symptom only but look for the root cause" for the patient. Despite his best effort to get to go into medical field I took the lesson into Explorer Post #449. This started my path to law enforcement at 13 years old. I took that teaching and applied it to helping others in their weakest moments. It was during this time I learned from many people about the job from ride-alongs to community events. This was both from their experiences but also from lessons of the people themselves. After seeing how many psychology issues people face on the job and from interacting with the public I realized I teach the next generation lessons from the last one. The last final lesson I took from another Explorer Post was from Irvine. They never took in their own Explorers without college (in other words life experience). That stuck with me since those people were some smartest, creative people I've seen in law enforcement. That led to going to college first then working outside the field to grow as a person. I went to ITT Technical Institute Orange, California and got an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice Degree. This led me to security jobs right after college. Then Walt Disney Company took me in. I was there for about 7 months then I got another dream job offer from Tesla. Tesla was something new for me working in a factory. After some time I met some people from Panasonic while working at Tesla and got thinking about how the batteries are made. These were two jobs in a row I had never thought I’d work in. Then covid happened jobs got cut life changed for us all. After a bit I went back to Disney when things started to go back to normal. Now I'm looking to the future and putting this out there to see what else might come along. The world is changing and jobs are shifting so I want to be ready for what comes along. As a side note: I loved my cruise to the Mediterranean. I got to expand my view on the world and see things you don’t see in the USA. I really loved the old Roman cities.
