About Kurt Ruppel

I have supported IWCO Direct’s marketing efforts for more than 30 years. In addition, I’m one of our resident postal experts and a leader of our Education Center. I keep our clients informed about the latest changes to postal regulations and postage rates, work with our Creative Services team to ensure mail packages meet USPS specifications and help design postal strategies that achieve in-home delivery targets while providing the best postage rates possible. I’ve written and presented extensively on the value of various Postal Service tools and technologies to the direct mail industry and the importance of the mailing industry to the economy. Through our Education Center, I’ve helped lead sessions for more than 600 individuals representing more than 60 clients. Topics are customized for each class, but range from postal regulations to print production to direct mail design. We also address workflow changes needed to support digital inkjet, managing digital assets and using dynamic content to drive more personalized messaging. Speaking of education, I’ve been accused of having an insatiable appetite for learning and feed it by attending industry conferences including the National Postal Forum, Graph Expo, and thINK to keep IWCO Direct and its clients informed about the latest trends in strategy, technology, and equipment. I serve on the Envelope Manufacturers Association (EMA) Board of Directors as well as being vice chair of its Postal Affairs Committee and representing the EMA on the Mailers’ Technical Advisory Committee (MTAC). I am also a member of the Association for Postal Commerce (PostCom) Member Engagement and Education Committee and the Idealliance Postal Operations & Technologies Council.
