About Kurt Schmitz

Registered as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan. Primary areas of interest are water and wastewater treatment engineering, water management, and environmental engineering. Prior to 2012, I worked at the Seabee gold operation in various roles primarily in the environment department as a junior environmental coordinator, the mill as an assistant assayer, and the wastewater treatment plant as an operator. From 2012 to 2015, I worked for the Water Security Agency of Saskatchewan approving agricultural drainage works. In 2016, I worked for the Upper Souris Watershed Association on an internship building a predictive watershed model for the Upper Souris river. In 2017, I went back to the Seabee gold operation to operate the wastewater treatment plant so that I could be a part of the commissioning of the new biological wastewater treatment plant that was being constructed. In 2018, I returned to develop a commissioning plan for the pre-treatment circuit of the new plant.
