Experienced leader and current Executive Director with a demonstrated history of working in the individual and family services industry. Skilled in Nonprofit Organizations, Conflict Resolution, Proposal Writing, Community Organizing, and Program Management. Strong business development professional with a Diploma focused in Addictions & Community Support Worker from CDI College & a Certificate focused in Non-Profit Management from SFU. A loyal, dedicated and committed leader. Exudes strength and natural tact as a leader, and in managing complex teams & challenges. Works from a strength’s-based approach when dealing with teams, always encouraging them to move forward and gain knowledge and confidence. During my career I gained outstanding skills with regards to understanding human resources challenges, being an active participant in annual strategic planning, policy development, coaching of teams, managing contracts and relationships with funders and procurement of funding. For over 13 years, working in the non-profit industry as a noteworthy leader. During my career I have planned & developed annual fundraisers, building stellar teams of leaders and front-line staff, and provided ongoing dedication to Surrey’s Urban Indigenous Populations. Driven by my commitment to advocate and make change for a better community I take pride in my abilities to communicate, strategize and lead teams in a healthy and meaningful way. I am devoted to following the Friendship Centre movement in the work I do. I am thankful to be provided the opportunity to live, work and play on the shared, unceded traditional territory of the Fraser Salish People including the Kwantlen, Katzie, QayQayt, Semiahmoo and Tsawwassen First Nations.
