About Kyle Burroughs

Becoming a teacher was pretty much my dream since I was very young, and become a teacher I did! I've been an English teacher since and have had several amazing years in the classroom. I have taught in four different schools and have taught five different grade levels. I am an English teacher by trade, and teaching is truly my passion. Over the past few years, teaching has become a rough profession to be a part of, and no matter how much I love teaching, I realized I was craving a change. Not only have I not gotten a raise in several years, but I was also facing actual cuts to my salary, an increase in insurance costs, and longer teaching hours after our planning periods were taken away. I knew I needed to take some action to own back my own 24; I couldn't continue to add more tasks at school to my plate in order to earn extra stipends so I could keep up with the increases in the cost of living. And then.I met my husband-or should I say reconnected with an old college buddy who became my husband. This guy gave up his big-city lifestyle to come live with me in little ol' Lansing, Michigan. He married me knowing that my job would keep me tied to Lansing while his job could follow him anywhere. That's when I knew with certainty that I wanted more-we deserved more. I wanted to be able to give this man big-city experiences. I wanted to be able to travel the world with him. I wanted to be able to build a life without limitations set by a district continuing to make cuts. So, I started my own business. I started a business where I am able to still educate people but work from home where my dogs and hubby are close by. A business where I am in control of how much or how little I work and ultimately control my paycheck. It has been a wild ride, and I'm loving it. We even just returned from a trip to Iceland. Here's to many more world travels!
