About Kyle Chiu

Growing up, I was surrounded by technology and have always wondered about the science behind how computers operate. What actually happens when I turn on the computer? Is it magic or is it science? My curiosity and strive to learn more about the nuances of how a computer is built and operated led me to build my first computer at age 12. Working full-time in fast-paced retail environments, I have developed strong customer service and communication skills and greater attention to detail by actively listening and observing. Through my years of working in a team-based environment, I have learned the importance of teamwork and the impact that has on my success in becoming a great leader. I am currently an Information Technology Helpdesk trainee at Year Up, a non-profit intensive career development program with the goal of closing the opportunity divide for young adults.
