I completed my B.S. in Health Science Pre-Physician Assistant as of July 2022. Since I had worked in sales and management for over 15 years, I chose to educate myself in the health sciences to help broaden my perspectives due to working in healthcare. I managed a dermatology medical practice for 10 years and during that time went back to school to finish my degree. In every management role I’ve ever had, I learn about every position in the company and get to know the staff that work for me so that when I make decisions, I understand how it alters their daily routine. As a medical practice manager, all hats are worn to achieve overall success of the practice. My responsibilities regularly include the general functions of payroll processing, managing a team of 47 (including 10 medical providers), clinic management, full HR, creating financial reports & budgets, marketing creation & deployment, daily staffing oversight, online reputation management, staff training, and more. I handled all of the marketing for the dermatology clinic ranging from print ads, social media posts, design of digital ads, design of billboard ads, in-office promotional material, patient forms, website design, monthly newsletter, management of online profiles (Google, Yelp, WebMD, etc.), and exterior signage. While not the primary lead over the lab, I am trained and participate in maintaining compliance with CLIA. I am also a certified billing and coding professional, so I help with insurance claims, denials, and general financial audits. I have utilized QuickBooks for the past 10 years for my daily accounting responsibilities, month-end reconciliation, and I handle all of the payroll tax filing such as Form 941, Form 940, and the state unemployment taxes. I oversee bi-weekly payroll processing, benefits enrollment, and time off balances. Much of what I do is assess the overall health of the business then drill down with data and real-life discussions to find areas that need improving. My goal is to relay that I have a wide area of experience and education, but if there is an area in this position that I am not familiar with then I have no problem learning it quickly and thoroughly.
