Working part-time for the City of San Diego Office of the City Auditor June 2023 to present. Retired from the City of San Diego February 2022 and began working as a consultant. City of San Diego Interim City Auditor from October 2018 to November 2020. City of San Diego Assistant City Auditor from April 2013 to September 2018. San Diego City Employees' Retirement System Internal Auditor April 2012 to April 2013. City Interim Internal Auditor / Assistant City Auditor / Audit Manager from April 2007 - April 2012: • Prepared the City's annual Citywide Risk Assessment for audit planning purposes. • Supervised 19 staff members performing the annual audit plan and administrative duties. • Oversaw the City's Fraud Hotline. • Assisted in producing over 70 audit and hotline reports with recommendations identifying over $50 million in potential monetary recoveries/cost saving for the City. City Staff Auditor from January 1995 - January 2001: • Performed audits of City operations, internal controls, contract compliance with vendors and agencies. • Performed hotel tax, franchise tax, and business license tax audits. • Prepared workpapers and audit reports to increase the efficiency of City operations, strengthen controls, safeguard assets, and recover monies owed to the City.
