About Kyle Gethings

I currently work at Unilever in Port Sunlight, working as a Demo Specialist within the Dishwash Appraisal team. Where my role is to create Demonstrations of our products and provide appraisal and claim support to different projects. I graduated in 2021 from the University of Liverpool with a 1st Class degree, MCHEM with year in industry. I undertook my 4th year research project in the Sliding Koala group at the University of Liverpool, researching Nitrogen and Sulphur containing compounds within Crude Oil. I completed my year in industry placement as a Research Chemist at The Lubrizol Corporation in 2019-2020 while completing my 3rd year studies online. I really enjoyed this role and I was able to experience what working in the chemical industry entailed. I worked on multiple projects within the Performance Coating Group which involved novel synthesis, analytical analysis and performance testing of products. The best part of the role for me was being able to work on something completely new and learn from my results to prove something possible that was previously unknown.
