About Kyle Gideons

I am a civil engineering student at Fresno State's Lyles College of Engineering with a strong background in structural reinforcement, construction, and leadership. With six years of on-site experience in ironwork and rebar installation, I have worked on large-scale infrastructure projects like the California High-Speed Rail from San Francisco to Fresno and the UC Merced expansion, where I installed post-tension cables and reinforcing steel for enormous concrete structures. I am currently the Steel Bridge Design Captain of MIDPAC 2025, leading a team in structural design, fabrication, and project management. My expertise includes reinforced concrete and steel structures, reading blueprints, AutoCAD and SolidWorks drafting, and material handling. I have also had experience in leadership as a Neighborhood Change Agent with Fresno EOC Advance Peace, leading system-impacted individuals and organizing community events, such as Easter On Olive, to drive change. Along with technical skills, I am interested in mentorship, advocacy, and community development. I have been a student government leader, STEM outreach leader, and reentry program leader, helping others navigate through education and careers. My goal is to bridge the divide between engineering and contribution to the community, using my knowledge to build sustainable infrastructure while building opportunities for future generations in the STEM field. I am actively seeking engineering internships and opportunities where I can apply my skills in structural design, project management, and construction engineering.
