The Prisoners’ Rights Project ("PRP") is a leading advocate of humane and constitutional conditions in the New York City jails and State prisons. We seek to dismantle the oppression and racism of New York's carceral system by protecting the safety and basic human rights of the people who are subjected to it. I advocate on behalf of incarcerated people in New York State prisons to obtain needed medical care, mental health care, and disability accommodations; and to be free from brutality, sexual abuse, harassment, and retaliation by corrections staff. I also work alongside PRP’s attorneys to enforce existing consent decrees and settlement agreements and build new litigation to protect and preserve our clients’ rights.
