Hi. My name is Kyle Hamman and I'm the owner/operator of KBH Media, a versatile production company specializing in visual storytelling. HOW DID WE GET HERE? I moved to Chicago in '98 to follow my dream of being an actor. I was Jeff Nominated for my first role in Chicago at Mary-Arrchie Theatre. I joined Strawdog Theatre Company shortly thereafter. I worked odd jobs for a few years to pay the bills. Waiter, Set Construction, Real Construction, Legal Aid. Then I worked in Real Estate for 6 years. The whole time, I was doing shows at Strawdog and meeting amazing people in the Theatre Community in Chicago. FOLLOWING MY PASSION Just before the downturn, I was searching for a way to marry my passion for art, storytelling and performance with the very real need to pay bills. I was less passionate about Real Estate, but it was a good job. Then the bottom fell out in 2008. It was the kick in the pants I needed. I started a video production business, remodeled my basement into a home office/studio and the rest as they say.is history. LIVING THE DREAM People used to ask me,"What's going on?" and my go-to snarky answer was "Living the Dream" until I realized that I was telling the truth. Take the snark out and it's a true statement. Work that I enjoy doing. Wife and kids. Nice house in the city. I really am living the dream. CHASING THE FUTURE That being said, dreams change. Evolve. The next phase. My original dream that brought me to Chicago was to be 'that guy' in movies. Not famous. Not rich. Just working enough to get to the next job and provide for my wife and family. The mantra I shared with a friend for a long time was that there was no such thing as "arrived" because there was always the next role, the next project, the next something.
