Background
About Kyle Mathes
I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to be attending Milwaukee School of Engineering, with the 6th Best Electrical Engineering program in the U.S. according to the U.S. News & World Report. Here, I am able to gain experience through a multitude of hands-on and team-based projects. I have gained experience in skills like MATLAB, C++, circuit analysis, Microsoft office, VHDL, SolidWorks, writing, mathematics, and organization. I also work 20 hours each week as a custodian to help pay for this education. I am seeking an internship and can be contacted at kzmathes@gmail.com or (716) 790 – 1770. Growing up, every kid wants to be like the superheroes they see on TV, but as you get older you quickly realize that’s not viable. However, through engineering, you can get pretty close. Engineering allows you to work to solve real world problems plaguing the country and the world. It allows you to contribute to substantial change through innovation, and leaves you feeling fulfilled and happy. At MSOE, I have completed three big projects directly related to my major. First, I built a simple D.C. motor using provided supplies and instructions. Second, using C++, I created a game in which the user, or Zombie, attempts to capture a human who is randomly wandering a fenced in field. Third, I made a single cycle processer using VHDL, and demonstrated it on a DE10-Lite board. I take great interest in the field of renewable energy. Climate change is one of the momentous issues of our time, and I would love to help fight it. I have written two major research reports in the realm of renewable energy. First, I wrote a 10-page paper discussing the potential economic effects of going green. Then, with a peer, we wrote a 12-page recommendation report discussing how anaerobic digestion can help MSOE limit its carbon footprint and prepare for a productive future with self-made cleaner energy. If given a chance to intern with your company, I will approach each day with gratitude and integrity. I will work my best to exceed expectations and reach my greatest potential in the role I am given.
