I manage a global API platform that delivers business information and verification data from around the world — and I'm increasingly focused on bringing AI from prototype to production.At Experian, I lead a cross-functional team of developers, a product manager, and operations specialists building and evolving a KYB (Know Your Business) platform with coverage across 100+ countries. My work spans product strategy, systems design, go-to-market execution, and the day-to-day realities of navigating a product line through a major organizational transformation.What energizes me most right now is AI. I've driven AI adoption across my team — building training programs, standing up AI-assisted workflows, and starting to explore RAG architectures and entity resolution prototypes independently. I write about AI implementation, agentic systems, and the gap between AI demos and production-ready deployments on Substack (kylematthies.substack.com).My approach to AI is grounded in production rigor. Not demos, but systems that work at scale — governance, identity, data quality, and the organizational change that makes adoption stick.Earlier in my Experian tenure, I led post-acquisition product integration for Clarity Services' alternative data assets, helped scale our segmentation and analytics product suite, and built go-to-market strategy for new market entries. Before Experian, I led data-driven marketing strategy at Toyota Financial Services, where I built the consumer market intelligence function from the ground up.I hold an MBA in Strategic Management from Texas A&M and a BA from CU Boulder. Outside of work, I coach my daughters' soccer and softball teams, write about AI and technology, and run a smart home automation setup on Raspberry Pi — because the best way to understand a technology is to build with it.
