About Kyle Monda

I studied visual communications design and English at the University of Alberta, learning about storytelling and the design process. While studying, I kept myself busy with a variety of volunteer and professional experiences, including advocating for students in a variety of governance roles and building supportive communities in residence as a residence life student leader. As I finished my degree, I worked as a Marketing Specialist at DiscoverE, a community outreach unit of the Faculty of Engineering, where I oversaw marketing efforts for K-12 summer camps and in-school workshops, with the goal of increasing enrolment in engineering for underrepresented groups. At DiscoverE I managed the transition to a new website and CMS, brought the unit into compliance with institutional brand guidelines, and spearheaded new email and direct mail campaigns. Since graduating, I have gained experience in retail sales and “phygital” operations at Indigo, as well as front-line customer experience on the SkyTrain Expo and Millennium Lines. I also have worked on a handful of communications projects, such as slide decks and informational charts for transit planners and companies working in the public transit field.
